    I’m wondering if there are any financing options or loans that people put out? I’ve been playing the lever harp for ten years and I’m finally taking the step to get a pedal. Thing is, is that most of them cost larger than a college tuition.

    I think most people finance them! They cost as much as a car. I find it hard to believe that the majority of harpists out there have $10-20,000 sitting around to spend on a harp. Some might, but certainly not your average person. Otherwise nobody would have one! I think most major harp manufacturers (L&H, Salvi etc) offer in-house financing options so you’ll probably have to call and ask them.

    Another option that a lot of us did was to start out with cheaper, pre-owned harps, keep them a while, then trade up. It usually takes several trade-ups to reach your dream harp, unless you have a lot of spare cash, of course! Also, some harp shops have rent-to-own opportunities, or maybe a private individual would be willing to sell you a harp and receive payments over time to allow you to go ahead and get a harp. Just explore your options, and good luck!

    I am saving up as well. I am in Australia and there is no finance available for any of the big brands of harp. You just have to save up for it.
    I put monthly a portion of my salary toward an account that is hidden from my bank app so I don’t touch it. And just aim for the best, put most of my income of my side jobs towards it!
    Be patient I guess and keep reminding yourself why you want it that much 🙂
