    If you are a certified therapeutic harpist, where are you working? How do you find such positions? I would like to get into this possibly with palliative care but wonder if there is much of a job market to justify the cost of certification.

    Hi Amber,
    I’m also looking looking into certification for therapeutic harping. In the last Folk Harp Journal there was a very detailed description of the different programs out there with varying cost ranges and requirements. Hopefully, one can fit your budget. With regard to finding positions, I think if you lived in a bigger city, you could find work. Otherwise, you might have to do some marketing to make people aware of not only your services, but how beneficial therapeutic music is. HarpforHealing.com is the program I’m looking at because it can be tailored to most any instrument…not just harps, and its costs are not too prohibitive. Good luck, and let me know how it’s going!
