    For the past few weeks, when I play my pedal harp, I get a sharp pain in my knees at the point of contact. I’ve played lever harp for 9 years, and pedal harp since last March.

    Is your harp nearly at its balance point when you play so there is barely any weight on your knees?

    I have only ever had obvious surface discomfort to my knees, easily cured by a towel or something over my lap to provide a bit more padding but your problem sounds more than this.
