MemberI know, I always seem to attract the oddballs and wackadoodles out there when it comes to weird weddings and convoluted concerts–and I have the stories to prove it! But something happened to me the other day that really
stopped time for me, in a good way.Out of the blue I got a message on my answering machine. It was a groom from 10 years ago. His message was:
“I never got the chance to thank you for the beautiful music you provided for my wedding. Everything was so hectic on that day that you were packed up and gone before I could get to you. I tried to remember your name and never could, and so I didn’t call and thank you.“My wife recently passed away. We had nearly 10 beautiful years together.
“I was going through her things, and found your contract. I finally had your name and number. And I wanted to thank you for the beautiful music you provided.”
WOW–I was in tears by the end of that message.
We DO make a difference. What we do IS valuable, DOES affect people, and we are so blessed to be able to create this beauty.

MemberWOW – now how cool was that?! You just never know how you have touched someones life. What you did for them, and now what he has done for you . . .

ParticipantYou made ME cry. Weddings are a business, but harping IS a performing art, and art speaks to people in ways nothing else can.

ParticipantI teared up too. Music is a connection between people and places everywhere. It’s spiritual, it’s beautiful!

ParticipantHow kind of him to take a moment and reach out to thank you. And how wonderful for you, to know the beauty and joy you contributed to their (all too brief) time together.

ParticipantThank you for this posting, David. It gives me goose bumps, and makes me teary-too. It is an honor, isn’t it, when our music reaches out and touches others so deeply. I just love the harp.

SpectatorYES. Thank you for sharing this. Sometimes we think that we are forgotten or are the last thing everyone around us thinks about. I love that he reached out to let you know otherwise. What a beautiful reminder for us all.
