    While out today, I came upon a harpist playing. I was particularly interested because the harpist was using a tablet. I just got an Ipad to download sheet music, and I was keen to see how the tablet was being used. Imagine my surprise to see the harpist was not reading music – but instead a book – while playing (beautifully, I should add) on auto-pilot every variation possible of Pachelbel’s Canon:)

    that’s amazing! I have trouble keeping track of what to do with eight fingers never mind reading a book while playing!

    Another example of multitasking: many years ago at an AHS conference in California, several of us heard, at a restaurant named Damian’s Plum, the gifted pedal harpist Betsy Mills (now Goodspeed) playing a small Salvi harp with one hand, and a keyboard with the other, entertaining the patrons.
