ParticipantHi all,
I just thought I’d share my library of harp videos that I’ve collected over time. I don’t particularly care for non-classical

ParticipantThanks Sam. The Angelaires are playing an arrangement of Ernesto Lecuona’s Malagueña from his Suite Andalucía. There’s a performance of the original piano version on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuQQxZ7TXaY

MemberSam, Yes, I was able to follow the link you gave, so the Angelaires can still be viewed. As mentioned above, it is an arrangement of that piece by Lecuona. I have it, and the arranger is Arabella Sparnon, who is now in Florida. Find four harpists with an ability like yours, and you may be able to perform it also! What would you call your group?

MemberIn the magazine Harp News, Spring 1955, is this item pertaining to the Angelaires:
The Angelaires (Carol Baum, Marjo Breusing, Genevieve Duffy, Marian Harding, and Bonnie Ward), who tour with Community Concerts, have filled more than 80 recital engagements this season in 27 states.

ParticipantDo you know where Marjo Breusing is these days?
I believe that they are not playing the Sparnon arrangement, but one done for the group, I think by Virginia Woerner Hatter.

ParticipantYes, the last part of the Variations is the best, and Lucile Lawrence insisted that her students learn the whole thing, which I performed twice at recent Harp Festivals of Philadelphia.

ParticipantShe passed away in July of 2004 – there is an obituary in either the late 2004 or early 2005 AHS Journal.

KeymasterJust to clarify post No. 10, “she” refers to Marjo Breusing passing away in 2004, not any of the other harpists mentioned in this thread.

ParticipantI just wanted to say that my grandmother was one of the founding members of the angelaires and owner for quite some time and I appriciate that people still lover her music.
