    Hi all !

It’s been a long time since I posted here !

I know there are a few threads talking about cars to transport a pedal harp, but I can’t seem to find one that mentions the Subaru impreza.

I just bought a Lyon Healy style 30 and I will need to move it. I am so excited as I have been wanting to play the harp since I was 9 ( now 34, I learned violin and I am now an orchestra conductor ) I started 4 years ago on an Ogden and I was finally able to afford buying my dream harp ! I made the trip to Lyon Healy in Chicago and it was one of the most beautiful and memorable moments in my life so far. This is very special for me !

So, back to the subject…I was wondering if any of you have any experience or knowledge about the Subaru impreza hatchback and if a pedal harp would fit in it. I have the option of borrowing a bigger vehicle, but it would be more complicated so if I can avoid it, I would prefer that. Also, I am not looking to buy a car, I don’t play professionally and I just need to move it this one time.

    thank you !

    Melanie

well… for any of you who would wonder in the future… I tried to fit it in and it did not work. Oh well ! I still like this car, but it’s not a harp car.

I still got the harp home and I have been enjoying every moment of it so far !

I used to haul my concert grand in a Subaru Outback, and it worked pretty well. Now I’m driving an Element, and it works, but it’s not my car of choice…..just what I could afford at the time when I quickly needed a new car. My teacher drives a Taurus X. It’s no longer produced, and it’s an exquisite harp car…..harp slides straight in with plenty of room to spare. I think it’s kind of hard these days finding an affordable harpmobile. I think my next car will be a Dodge Grand Caravan.

Briggsie, the Taurus X is basically the same body type as the Flex, and the price is very close to the Flex basic model.I can’t say enough good things about the Flex- comfortable, safe and lots and lots of room. Actually when we were looking, the Flex was a little easier to load than the Taurus X.

Thanks Sherry, that’s really good to know!

Today I loaded my harp on it’s column in the Element. It worked very well…..I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before.
