    The soundboard of my pedal harp has recently ripped open and I need to send it over to Italy for repairs. I don’t own a shipping trunk and absolutely have no idea on how to package a harp for such a long distance shipment.

    This is so overwhelming and frustrating 🙁 Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

    Might want to speak to the folks at Virginia Harp Center on how their harps are shipped. You can buy a shipping carton from Lyon & Healy.

    You’ve all made the assumption that she is in the United States. I contacted her privately and she’s in Indonesia! I put up a post on the new HC site about the fact that when people email me, they never NEVER tell me where they are.

    “How much will it cost to ship my harp to you?” Where are you??

    “Would you consider buying my harp?” Where are you and the harp?

    “Can you regulate my harp?” Where are you?

    These are the kind of questions I get all the time, and the response I have to send back to them. It baffles me that no one ever thinks to tell me where they are. With the internet, they could be in a Boston suburb or Japan, and I have no way of knowing if they don’t tell me. UGH!!

    If you aren’t in an area where you can get a shipping carton from one of the major harpmakers, the best thing would be to take it to a place that packs furniture and antiques for shipping. They should be able to foam and crate it for you.

    I haven’t checked this thread for so long and seen any of the replies. Thanks so much for all your help.

    I’m so sorry about that, Carl. I should have put down my location when making the first post. But I was really panicking at the time (seeing your harp rip open do things to you) and couldn’t really think properly. I’m glad the new forum gives you an option to state your location in the profile.

    I have found a company that packs furnitures an antiques and now the harp is on it’s way to Salvi.
