This bizarrely named (but incredibly fun) piece is now a standard on the North American folk-music circuit, and has many variants. What is less well known it is that it is actually based on a much longer piece called Pig Ankles: A Grotesque Intermezzo by the American composer Mamie E Williams.

Mamie E. Williams was one of a number of female composers of ragtime music during the late 19th and early 20th century, a time when this genre was wildly popular. She worked in a department store in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as being a piano and organ teacher.

This arrangement is fairly fast paced, but it is well worth putting in the practice to get it up to speed. It is that rare thing in harp music—a delightful ragtime piece with no lever or pedal changes, so you can just concentrate on your fingers.
