Arranger notes

The famous lyrics are by Robert Burns, but there are two melodies to which they can be sung. This arrangement combines both the original (yet less well-known) melody with the one more commonly used today. The two tunes are very similar though, so it is indicated in the video where each one appears in this solo. If you’re unfamiliar with the non-standard one, it really is lovely, and the two combine very well indeed.
