Shoshanna Godber has arranged the traditional French carol “Orientis Partibus” (“The Friendly Beasts”) for solo lever or pedal harp. Dating back to the 13th century, Godber says the carol “was sung in Christmastide pageants praising the donkey who carried the holy family to Egypt.” Godber’s arrangement begins with the medieval version before shifting to an upbeat rendition of the modern version.
