Preseli Skies and African Reflections

Monika Stadler’s original compositions Preseli Skies and African Reflections are for two pedal harps. These two pieces are very different in nature. Preseli Skies is a lyrical piece “inspired by the natural beauty of the Preseli Hills in the Pembrokeshire National Park in West Wales, UK,” says Stadler. The Harp 1 part for this piece can also be performed as a solo piece. African Reflections is a rhythmical, fun piece to play “which experiments with different sounds to imitate the Kora,” a traditional instrument from Africa, says Stadler.
