Lauren Scott’s “Sea of Stars” is for lever and pedal harp duet. Inspired by bio-luminescent plankton that glow in the dark, this piece uses flashy arpeggio figures, the hum of rapid harmonics, and a variety of extended techniques to “evoke this most magical of phenomena to scintillating effect,” says Scott. The piece was written to specifically capture the sound differences of both the lever and pedal harp. This piece is also available for harp quartet.
