“River Right Rhumba” is an original work for solo pedal or lever harp, by Laura Zaerr. (Learn how to play this piece in Sunita Staneslow’s studio at Harp Column Academy.)Â “This rhythmic study was inspired by a kayaking trip on the North Umpqua River in Southern Oregon,” says Zaerr. “The three repeating rhythmic patterns come directly from a West African drumming pattern from Guinea, the African Rhumba.” Only a few lever changes are required.
