John Gordon Armstrong’s original composition “What Happens in Vegas . . .” is for solo pedal harp. This piece was written in 2019 for harpist Michelle Gott and was inspired by video game music. It uses the whole register of the harp along with a wide variety of sounds and techniques.

Note from the composer

“What Happens in Vegas . . .” was premiered on April 11, 2024 by Juliette Sinnott in Freiman Hall at the University of Ottawa. It was subsequently performed by Michelle Gott at the Ottawa New Music Festival on October 18, 2024.
