Hannah Haynes’ original composition “Gathering fallen leaves” is for solo lever or pedal harp. It’s the third etude in A Suite of Botanical Etudes, a collection of original, botanically-themed etudes. This one, for beginning harpists, is a study on harmonic thirds and fourths. The music tells the story of a gardener who gathered up all the fallen leaves neatly into piles, only for a sudden gust of wind to scatter all the leaves.
