Notes from the composer

The harpoon of the title is an emotional harpoon which is portrayed in the minor seventh chords with suspension – first heard first in bar 3. The overall mood of the piece is one of agitation. The sections starting at bar 30 and 47 hint at more positive sentiments but soon to succumb to an increasing sense of frustration.
