Notes from the Composer

“Vintage Future” is a musical commentary on humanity’s ever changing visions for the future. The piece has three continuous sections consisting of the past, present, and future. Shafer encourages performers to find their own voice within the piece and to “let your own personal experiences shine through” with the thematic material.
