Barbara Ann Fackler has arranged the traditional song “Away in a Manger” for lever or pedal harp and solo instrument. Solo parts are included for violin, viola, cello, flute, french horn, B-flat clarinet, and E-flat saxophone. This unique setting of the beloved Christmas carol uses melodies by both James R. Murray and William J. Kirkpatrick, and includes a brief reference to Brahms’ Lullaby.

Note from the arranger

This piece is equally suitable for lever and pedal harp. No lever or pedal changes. Comfort with left hand harmonics is needed. Piano may substitute for harp by playing the harmonics where written.
