Description

Note from the arranger

The set is playable on lever harps with a range from two octaves below middle C to the G an octave above the staff. “The Month of January” is a classic ballad; the slow modal melody is set first with a plaintive solo in the French horn/cello in 6/8, moving to a moderate tempo in 2/2 with a more lively countermelody. The whole piece transitions to the very animated tune “Kitchen Girls,” with the two instruments taking turns with offbeat accompaniment.
