Alyssa Reit’s original composition Sine Nomine is for pedal harp and cello. “The beauty of leaving something un-named (sine nomine)” Reit says, “is that “it invites an exploration without any preset ideas. As soon as something is named, it becomes more fixed. This piece is a tribute to that adventure into the Unknown.” This piece is written in 6/8 rhythm, with primarily tonal harmonies. It is very successful at a wide range of tempi.
