my hands are very shaky & I have very BAD balance when it comes to stairs & uneven ground
Thank God I don’t have cesuras
I also have PVL which stands for Periventricular leukomalacia which means I have dry spots in my brain so it takes me longer to learn things
it’s very mild & some days are better then others
it’s not easy for me on a daily bases
it’s not easy for me to type
lets say u have some vision in your left eye & just light perception in the other eye
lets also say u have mild CP too
u would need an apple ipad just to read whats on screen & a Mac computer with a large enough screen & mouse just so u can get around the internet & listen to your music
does she use a big Mac computer from apple & does she use voiceover on her ipad like I do

I’m not a harp teacher but I have some good ideas
these ideas might seem a bit odd to u
sense your student can’t see at all have her feel u in the wrong harp position & the right one
this one you’ll need a mug without a drink in it give her the empty mug tell her to find the handle & hold on tight then tell her to put her thumb up while fingers 2 3 4 & 5 are still holding onto the handle
now here comes the fun part, take away the mug & make shore that her hand position hasn’t changed if not than put her hands on the harp strings
next take her hands & show some basic chords like c g d e & a on the harp
I hope these ideas are helpful & maybe u might use them on your other harp students

do u mean those little black levers on the dusty & triplet harps than yes I have
I didn’t know about the rings & stickers
I’m thinking about going with Mountain glen harps they seem to be what I’m looking for in a lap harp so maybe I’ll give them a call someday soon

My harp teacher said that the harp sickle harps sound like toys
If I were to buy a full sickle harp would they come with gut strings or would I have to completely restring the harp with gut ones

Does anyone know about Mountain Glen harps
They do make gut strung lap harps with full levers
Do they have a good sound quality or do the sound like toy harps with pretty decorations
I want my new harp to look & sound good

I myself am a visually impaired harp student
let me tell you that it’s not easy
being my harp teacher’s only blind harp student
i have 2 advantages over her harp students
while they can all see i can hear & feel the music

i have low vision in my left eye & almost no vision in my right eye
me & my harp teacher use my ipad to record a video
she playas eater a celtic harp or a pedal harp
after we are done recording i listen to it & try to practice along
we also do a lot of things by ear
i also have mild CP too

i have 2 harps both from Lyon & Healy
1 is a shamrock lever harp in natural wood she is named Emily & what i like about her is that she has celtic designs on the entire soundboard
i also love the range on my lever harp
    she has 34 strings
the other harp is an 85 gp in mahogany & her name is Gina
44 strings is just enough for me
i have a very high soprano voice
both Emily & Gina have rich haunting voices too
both harps are taller than me
