ParticipantI looked up the Prelude 40 and it weighs 44 pounds, so if the Pratt lever harps are heavier that’s saying something! But they still probably weigh a lot less than most pedal harps. Wish I could hear a sound clip of one being played.

ParticipantFor me, the ideal cart would have a small motor to assist with stairs! I know this can be done and have even seen motorized carts for moving appliances, etc. Unfortunately, these carts are very heavy even without a load on them.Why not something lighter in weight for harps?

ParticipantI think some people can knit and play the harp and some have to make a choice to do one or the other. If you have any arthritis in your hands it may be best to let them rest when you’re not playing depending on how you feel that day. I agree that the smaller needles are easier to hold and personally find the continental method easier on the hands. Best wishes-hope you can find a way to knit or crochet and play harp as well.

ParticipantYou could also get a “white noise” machine which produces a sound like rushing air. These work well for masking voices, but I don’t know how well they’d do for harp. An even more effective machine is the sort of electric filter
