Thanks, Balfour! Salvi base seems to be the way to go. But I may go to a shoemaker or luggage repair place to see about attaching a couple hand straps to the L&H first.

I actually called Dusty this morning asking about using them on a pedal harp. I specifically asked if it was purely the size of the holes or if pedal tension was an issue. They said as long the string fits in the holes, we can use them and tension was not a factor. It doesn’t matter if the strings are gut or nylon. The diameter has to be .8mm (.08cm listed on their page) or smaller to fit. On my 85CG, the lowest string with that diameter is 2nd octave F.
Three years ago, I ordered a Salvi Arion but after playing it, decided not to purchase it. The sound was disappointing: not big or resonant to my ear. I was surprised because my Daphne 40 was a much better sounding harp from the get go. So I would say you’ll be happier with a Daphne EX if you are looking for a big sound. Just my opinion.
Although I was looking for a semi grand, I wound up with an 85CG. BTW, the Arion weighs as much as the 85.Another vote for a Subaru Outback. Mine is a 2019 and my 85CG, another person plus all the paraphernalia fit fine.
My 85CG (73.5” tall) fits in my 2019 Outback Limited quite easily, with room for the dolly and bench and whatnot. I’m only 5’ so my seat is forward. I do move the passenger seat up after my 6’ husband sits in it – he moves it all the way back.
If you like Subaru, the Ascent is larger. Best wishes finding a new harpmobile.I am also an adult learner and my teacher gave me the Thumbs Up, Levers Up book by Kathy Brundage. It has interesting harmonies and progressive exercises. You can supplement with that on your own.
I’m so glad to find this thread. I just bought an 85CG and drive a 2019 Outback. I’m glad it will fit since I didn’t want to have to buy a new car as well 😀
I’ve been using the PageFlip Butterfly for a few months and am very happy with it. I place it to the left and toward me a bit of the D pedal. I just rotate my foot to press it. I had to experiment quite a bit with placement before finding the right spot. And I always practice with it.

• Low A-B 15 mmInteresting question. I played my friend’s Venus Prodigy for a few days and couldn’t figure out why I was buzzing so much. I measured the distances between the strings and found they were quit a bit closer together, especially at the top.
