In answer to the question: The reality of age! I like Bella, decided it was time to do, not just “wish”!
Carl, Very interesting. I teach piano and not only try to get my students to slow down but also I tell them to “take it apart” either line by line or 2 measures at a time and do them over and over until they come easily. A similar idea to what you are saying. Then after learning the 2 measures, do 2 more measures in the same manner, etc. then put them together and go over that several times. I’ve taken my own “advice” as I try to learn the harp and it works so much better for me than just trying to learn a song all at once. I “reward” myself at the end by doing the whole song or a large portion of it or whatever once I’ve practiced it that way. My harp teacher was surprised at how quickly I was progressing and I truly believe it was practicing in this manner.

Thanks everyone. You’ve pretty much answered my question. I was also thinking of just putting the music I would need at the time in the binder. That way I would have it organised in the order I wanted, could practice it that way and get used to where I would need to make key changes, etc. Really appreciate your input.
BTW, I’m afraid I’ll have to stick to the “old fashioned” ways, I don’t have the new-fangled techie things like Ipads, etc. Don’t even know what they are let alone how to use them! LOLI’m not having trouble negotiating, but I find the new “areas” of posting to be less than helpful. I preferred the “old” ones. I was already “intimidated” alot in the old forum by the professionals on the pedal harps. This one is even more so since there is no where for us “unprofessionals” and lever harpists. Also, I agree, when I am posting the print is so tiny.
Sorry I haven’t gotten back Sherri. Just saw your post now. The wood is birds-eye maple and quilted maple. I told the Luthier what I wanted and where. He and I matched the colors of the callas to the feet and embellishments. It was interesting to collaborate. 🙂 I was lucky I can carve and make a “one of a kind”.
BTW, these 2 harps sound amazingly similar in sound.
