ParticipantHis plans have changed in time. He wants it to be a great hobby, but has come back from being professional. It’s just not his way of life after all. It’s just the way how it was communicated that hurt a lot and left a dent. He will come over and now feels the freedom again to play what he chooses and he will keep having lessons from the same teacher but in another way now. Attitude to criticism is always a thing, specially with boys in puberty I know as a teacher myself. That will grow in time. Unfortunately that’s not always accepted.
In the end all is ok and we will follow a different path and hope that music stays an important thing in his life.

ParticipantHere is a sound example from the Camac Art Nouveau played by my son. It sounds really very nice:

ParticipantYesterday Davy had to do a replay at the conservatory to see if he is making progress. He was quite happy with this:

ParticipantThanks. He could choose any harp from the Camac store, so he chose this one 🙂 We all were hit in our family with Covid last month. We were sick at home for 2-3 weeks, but luckily we are recovering well now.
He loves the new school and really is enthusiastic, so that’s very nice to see.
Wishing you the best and stay safe!

ParticipantThanks a lot!
This piece he played also for his audition:
He got the news last week that he’s indeed admitted and will have an introduction day next week. He’s so happy…

ParticipantDear Balfour,
Davy just had his audition for the pre-conservatory high school today and had a positive result. He’s admissible and now only has to wait for his school advice, which is expected to be good. So he’s so happy now…

ParticipantThanks. Yes, it’s very nice it is republished. I was in contact with Gary Schocker (his son) and after the movie that Davy made there was quite some interest in the piece resulting in it being republished. So that was a very nice surprise.
Just to mention, it is not Paul Schocker himself playing in the video. It’s Bill van Patten (he has a youtube channel with a lot of harp music).
Regards!
André (and Davy)

ParticipantThanks a lot! In just two weeks from now he will have his audition for the pre-conservatory high-school. This is very nice because this school is located within the conservatory and so they will have lessons from conservatory teachers there and get a lot of music theory. I really hope he will make it…

ParticipantOne year later Davy plays Nuvole on his pedal harp. He’s making a lot of progress now and is determined to go to a high school attached to the conservatory. Nice to see the huge difference with a year ago. There are exciting times coming up the next months…

ParticipantHere is a first quick video made with my phone of the sound of the harp. Davy is so happy with it!

ParticipantThanks! We have been on a first ‘open day’ and he had a short lesson with her. In two months he will attend a workshop from the teacher and we made the appointment to go to her for a lesson in which they will talk about what to do. So we’re working on that 🙂 Thanks for the good advice!

ParticipantThanks! He’s determined to go to a special high-school here which is attached to the conservatory. There they will have lessons from teachers from the conservatory and get about 4-5 hours per week music lessons (solvege, music theory etc.). He has to do audition for that in January next year, so he’s working hard to get there… Next week he and his brother will do their first music theory exam 🙂

ParticipantThis is a more recent video. He’s clearly improving. There is still a lot to improve, but he’s really working on it nowadays…

ParticipantThanks for the nice replies! We will pick up the harp tomorrow, so he’s really looking forward to that!
