I remember the first time I ever read a book that mentioned a harp in it. It was The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. A character named Kevin Harper had a full-size harp that he called “My Lady”. Kevin was a cripple and yet was admitted into the Druid class because of his great skill with the harp. He had a bond with his harp that was not just musical but spiritual. That is how I feel about my harps. Some would consider that wacky too, Fairy Reel….

Dorothy Remsen once told me, “your harp will whisper it’s name to you.”

I realise this is an old thread, but I can’t find the previous one either, so here goes.

My Venus Paragon is named Erica, a name that was given to her by a previous owner.

I realize that this first post is almost a year old, but I just now found it and had to chime in.

My Dusty Strings FH32 has been with me for almost sixteen years; her name is Danu, named for one of the primal goddesses of Ireland. There aren’t any stories about her, just some place-names in the south and west of Ireland. But her name is part of the mythical fourth wave of invaders of Ireland, the Tuatha Dé Danann, the Tribe of the Goddess Danu.
My first harp is named Brigid, a much better-known deity of the Celtic lands.

Wow! My lap harp is named Cerddwin too 🙂 I am trying to decide on a name for my brand new troubadour (just came today!) but I’m having some trouble…
