ParticipantI was asked to play this for tea ceremony for wedding. Can’t find music. Or something else Cantonese. I suggested Jasmine and some other songs from Flowers of the Orient. Bride especially wants this song. Thought I would ask here.

ParticipantI don’t know if it will help any, but it’s usually written in English as
Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin
rather than Yue Liange Dai Bia Wo De Xin. You might try googling for that instead.

ParticipantOh, and sorry, I don’t have the sheet music, but I think there’s an English language version sung by someone fairly well known (maybe Susan Boyle?). Can’t remember the English title, though.

ParticipantI don’t have sheet music for it, but would love it too if anyone has some. It’s one of my favorite love songs.
But it isn’t Cantonese, it’s Mandarin (han yu). And Barbara is correct, the proper spelling in Chinese PinYin is Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin. I don’t know if the forum will display it with the tone marks, but I will try here:
yuè liang dài biǎo wǒ de xīn
If I were on my home computer I would give you the characters, but the computer I am on is not

ParticipantOK, I am home now and will see if the Harp Column forum can handle Chinese:
The title of the song in Chinese characters is:
月亮代表我的心
That may give better search results, although it will also probably bring up more Chinese only pages.
And yes, Michael is right, the translation of the title is The Moon Represents My Heart.

ParticipantBeat me to it Lisa. Thanks. That’s great. And I took a look and yes, that is the song. Yes, it looks like it is very playable on harp, although I may try spicing it up a bit.

ParticipantSince I do not have a computer and must use library computers, I am limited to just recording through the earphone jack on the computer and writing down the song after I recorded.

ParticipantThanks Onita. I was just curious. If you have a computer or IPOD the Amazing Slow Down is another good tool

ParticipantThanks to those of you who helped me find the music to this beautiful piece. I played this today for a wedding while the couple had a tea ceremony. It was actually very beautiful. I have never played for a tea ceremony during a wedding before. Many of the guests were Chinese and many came up afterwards to tell me they know the song.
