21st International Harp Contest in Israel

The 21st International Harp Contest in Israel will take place Oct. 4–14, 2021, in Akko, Israel. Applications are due May 1, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the contest will decide whether to proceed with in person events by June 1, 2021. In the event it is not safe to gather in person, the first and second stages of the competition will be held remotely, while the third and final stage will still be conducted in person. The dates of the semifinals and finals are flexible. Avner Dorman’s Suite for Harp is the commissioned Israeli work for the 21st contest. Lenka Petrovic, first prize winner of the 20th International Contest, will perform the opening concert on Oct. 4, 2021. The first prize winner will receive a Lyon & Healy gold concert grand harp, valued at $55,000.
