September 29, 2020

Moya Wright has been named the new executive director of the USA International Harp Competition (USAIHC). “I am thrilled to return to the USAIHC to direct the organization of the 12th USA International Harp Competition, which will take place in 2022,” says Wright. “The USAIHC continues to be the foremost harp competition in the world, and is renowned for its high standards, as well as its role in launching the careers of their prize winners. I am looking forward to working with the board of directors, staff, and volunteers to present a successful and memorable competition in 2022.”

Previously serving as the executive director for the 8th competition in 2004, Wright has since held positions as director of the Victor Salvi Foundation and director of music publishing at Lyon & Healy. She has also written articles for the World Harp Congress Review, the American Harp Journal, and Harp Today. Joyce Claflin, CEO of the competition, shares, “Moya is uniquely qualified for the position, with an impressive record of accomplishments as an arts administrator and professional harpist, and we welcome her as we move forward in planning the 2022 12th competition.”
