Singaporean harpist Lishan Tan is the newly appointed principal harp of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. “I’m really excited to be part of an orchestra with such a rich history and a genuine commitment to its community,” Tan says. “Their focus on education, accessibility, and thoughtful programming really resonates with me, and I’m truly looking forward to making music together and sharing that joy with New Haven audiences!”
A first prize winner of the Mexico International Harp Competition, Tan performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, and The Metropolitan Opera. She has also performed as a soloist with Yo-Yo Ma at Tanglewood.
