Grace Roepke is the newly appointed principal harp of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO), starting this fall. Roepke says she is thrilled to join the ensemble. “There is such a palpable love for music-making when playing with and listening to the SLSO,” she says. “Phrasing and shaping are always at the forefront of every artistic decision, and I can’t wait to explore how I can add to their beautiful musicianship next season!”
Roepke previously held the principal harp position with the Louisville Orchestra. She has performed as guest principal harp with the Cleveland Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Minnesota Orchestra. As the only harpist to be awarded the grand prize at the FRIENDS of the Minnesota Orchestra Young Artist Competition, she made her subscription concert debut with the Minnesota Orchestra in 2023 performing Ginastera’s harp concerto.
