Molly Langr wins one–year position with Boise Philharmonic

June 7, 2019

Molly Langr was named acting principal harpist with the Boise Philharmonic for the 2019–2020 season, following an audition on May 27. The first round was screened, with two competitors advancing to the finals.

Currently a graduate student at Rice University, Langr says she’s looking forward to having the opportunity to play consistently with an orchestra for the next year. “I’ve had wonderful experiences with orchestras at the San Francisco Conservatory and Rice, but sometimes it feels like there are so many other things to do in school that orchestra isn’t a priority.” Raised in Salt Lake City, Langr adds she’s delighted to have the opportunity to play in an orchestra closer to home. “There are a lot of fantastic pieces in the coming season that I’m very excited for and some parts I’ve always wanted to play.”
