Matthew Tutsky appointed harp professor at Oregon schools

August 30, 2018

Matthew Tutsky was named harp professor at both University of Portland and Reed College. Having recently moved to Portland following his appointments as principal harpist with the Portland Opera and Oregon Ballet Theatre, Tutsky has previously held adjunct teaching positions at Weber State University and Northwest Nazarene University. “I am thrilled to start two teaching positions as Adjunct Professor of Harp at University of Portland and Reed College in Portland, Ore. Students from beginner to advanced are welcome to enroll in private instruction. There are harps available to use and other musical opportunities at both schools.”

Tutsky is also principal harpist with Colorado Springs Philharmonic, a position he won in April 2018, and the Boise Philharmonic. Tutsky holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Deborah Hoffman, former principal harpist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
