Madeline Jarzembak appointed principal harpist with U.S. Navy Band

Following three rounds of auditions, Madeline Jarzembak was named the new principal harpist with the United States Navy Band. “I was thrilled to be offered the position,” Jarzembak says. “As principal harpist with the U.S. Navy Band, I’ll have the opportunity to serve my country while doing what I love the mostplaying the harp! I am honored to do my part to carry out the mission of the Navy Band.” Jarzembak, who currently resides in Ramstein, Germany, with her husband and four children, will return to the U.S. to begin bootcamp in May. Jarzembak says she is hoping to officially begin her new position in the fall. “After 10 years of auditioning, I finally have my dream job. It was definitely worth the wait,” she shares.

Jarzembak is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has served as principal harpist with Santa Cruz Symphony and Stockton Symphony and has performed with San Francisco Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra. She was a winner of the 2017 Lyon & Healy Awards.
