Lisci appointed to Orchestre de la Suisse Romande

September 1, 2022

The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva has appointed Valerio Lisci principal harpist after the retirement of former principal harpist Notburga Puskas. “I look forward to sharing music with amazing musicians and being part of a bigger family,” Lisci says. The first and second rounds of auditions were held in Geneva on Aug. 22; a final round with orchestra took place Aug. 23.

Lisci currently performs as a soloist in Europe, the United States and Korea. Since 2017, he has been professor of harp at the High School of Saluzzo, home of the “Suoni d’Arpa” harp festival, of which he is also member of the Artistic Committee. Since 2019, he has been professor of harp and chamber music at the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone.

Lisci is also a frequent competitor in international competitions. In 2018, he won first prize both at the Korea International Harp Competition in Seoul and at the Reinl-Stiftung Foundation Competition in Vienna. Lisci took home the silver medal at the 11th USA International Harp Competition in 2019. He studied with Gabriella Bosio at the Conservatory of Turin and subsequently obtained two Masters of Arts with Letizia Belmondo at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne.
