The Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in Denmark has appointed Dutch harpist Marianne Hofman principal harp. “It is an incredible honor to become the new principal harp of the Aarhus Symfoniorkester,” Hofman says. “I am thrilled to join this inspiring orchestra, contribute to its rich tradition and artistry, and grow through shared musical collaboration, and I eagerly look forward to beginning my trial in April.”
Hofman performs with orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, Brussels Philharmonic, and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. She held academy positions at the Staatstheater Kassel and the Deutsches Nationaltheater und Staatskapelle Weimar, and served as principal harp of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. She studied in Ghent (Belgium) and at University of the Arts (UdK) Berlin, graduating both with distinction.
