The China National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra (NCPAO) in Beijing has appointed Chinese harpist Qi Han associate principal harp. “After seven years of studying and performing in Europe, returning to my home country feels both meaningful and inspiring as I begin this new chapter with NCPAO,” Han says. “I look forward to exploring great orchestral repertoire and broadening my artistic perspective through the collective energy of an ensemble that regularly works alongside internationally renowned conductors and musicians.”

Han studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) with Isabelle Moretti and Geneviève Létang, and she later completed the Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main with Françoise Verherve. A prizewinner of international competitions, she was also an Aspen Music Festival Fellow and has performed widely as a soloist and orchestral harpist across Europe and Asia.
