Program summary

The Oberlin Summer Harp Intensive offers a week-long program featuring private lessons, master classes on your chosen solo and ensemble repertoire, and harp ensemble. Daily workshops will explore keys to efficient and effective practicing, problem solving, embodiment of rhythm, ensemble playing skills that go beyond delivering the correct notes and rhythms, and creating stand-out interpretations. Family, friends and locals will be invited to hear the final recital.

Tuition breakdown:
$1400 = Program fee, room & meals (double occupancy)
$1500 = Program fee, room & meals (single occupancy)
$850 = Program fee only (for commuters)
$1000 = Program fee plus lunches & dinners at dining hall (for commuters)
Instruments:
—Each harpist will have a locked daylight practice room in the Conservatory for their exclusive use. Harps are provided. If enrollment exceeds the number of harps available, students will be asked to bring their own instruments. Harp moving for ensemble rehearsals and the final concert will take place entirely indoors.
—The Oberlin Conservatory library will be available to Harp Intensive students. It contains harp solos and chamber music exceeding 2500 titles, 60,000 books about music, 150,000 sound recordings, and 150,000 musical scores.
