The International Online Harp Competition “Crescere con la Musica” (“Growing Up with Music”) has announced its 6th edition, open to young harpists of all nationalities studying with either the Suzuki method or the traditional method. The competition comprises three main divisions: a division which includes solo Suzuki repertoire and free choice repertoire, open to Suzuki students ages 4 to 18; a division for solo classical repertoire, open to students ages 8 to 18; and a division for harp ensembles. Applications are due May 2, 2027. The video submission period for the online competition is June 1–6, 2027.

Artistic director Tiziana Loi says, “The competition allows young harpists to stay in touch with one another and helps to promote the harp, especially among very young players, from the age of 4 and up.” Organized by the Arpeggiando Music Association and sponsored by the Italian Suzuki Institute, the annual competition was founded in 2020 by Loi, late harpist Gabriella Bosio, and other fellow harpists, including Nicoletta Sanzin. Since 2023, a special prize has been dedicated to Bosio’s memory. Bosio was an internationally renowned harpist and harp teacher who introduced the Suzuki Method for harp to Italy and Europe, taught at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin, and wrote texts on harp teaching.
