The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) has announced an opening for principal harp. Applicants must apply by email and submit video links of required excerpts by Aug. 31. Please see the audition listing for more details.
After the video round, selected candidates will be invited to the live auditions on Oct. 6, held at the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn. Up to three candidates will then be invited to play in the orchestral round, participating in up to three concerts and the related rehearsal periods. The full-time position will begin in March 2024.
Led by Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Olari Elts, the ERSO has premiered symphonic pieces by major Estonian composers such as Arvo Pärt, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Jüri Reinvere, and Eduard Tubin, and won a GRAMMY Award for its recording of cantatas by Sibelius. The orchestra’s home venue is the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn.
