I’m wondering who the harpist was in Les Baxter’s orchestra during the 1940-50’s? Any ideas? Really lovely playing. Just so curious!

That may be true, but nonetheless I do not recognize “Well I went to MIT” a valid counter for any argument by itself. The luthiers who could offer some substantial content in a discussion are too busy making harps — as they should be.

    Hi Felicia,
Yes, I used to lurk too, until the new HarpColumn came on board and I noticed it was a pretty nice place to be. I read your profile and see you live in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. That must be something! 🙂 I live now in the mountains of Vermont, originally lived in the flatlands of Western New York, near Buffalo. For me, a scenic environment has done a lot for my music. Do you do folk, classical, pop, or a little bit of everything?

Gosh, I don’t know the answer, but I’d like to know, too! I love hearing the Les Baxter Orchestra on the Retro Cocktail Hour 🙂

We were listening to this crazy theremin album they did (my composer boyfriend is really in to playing the theremin, hehe!) and there was TONS of harp. Really fun stuff! I was internet searching for hours and found nothing.
