“The harp community is pretty special,” says Christy Mooers, daughter of Dusty Strings founders Ray and Sue Mooers. “We see harp players cheering each other on, encouraging each other, and lifting each other up. And among harp builders, there’s an attitude of mutual respect and sharing of ideas and resources. We are all working to make music available to as many people as possible.”
Mooers describes Dusty Strings’ role in the harp community as a combination of problem solving and feeding the “harp habit” of players. “We all know harps are addictive, and what a positive addiction! We think it’s important to listen to the harp players of the world and to put our experience and creativity toward making their harp lives easier and more joyful. More music can only be a good thing in this world!”
