Amber has a positive, encouraging and methodical teaching style. Amber has experience teaching people of all ages, from small children to seniors. Â She also can prep student harpists for the college audition process and for high school/college orchestral auditions.
Bio:
Amber Burdick has the beautiful ability to make the harp sing and is known for her grace and musicality. With many years of performing experience, Burdick has charmed audiences in both the national and international scenes. She often appears as a soloist, and notably performed Claude Debussy’s Dances sacreé et profane at the Haugh Performing Arts Center.
Although based in Los Angeles, California, Burdick was a featured soloist for Symphony of the Vines in San Luis Obispo, California performing Maurice Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro. She also was the principal harpist for Opera San Luis Obispo for their 2014-2015 season.
Burdick has been honored to work with maestros Arthur B. Rubinstein, Jorge Mester and Eduard Topchjan.
At Azusa Pacific University (APU), Burdick was the principal harpist for the Symphony Orchestra, as well as principal harpist for all five performing groups at the school.
An accomplished harpist, Burdick holds both a Bachelor (summa cum laude) and a Master of Music in Harp Performance (APU), as well as an Artist Certificate.
Honors include: Valerie Finzi Scholarship Winner, Senior Performance Major of the Year, Alpha Chi Honors, and Concerto Competition winner.
