Allison- thanks very much. just ordered new wires and will look into the cloth for cleaning guitar strings, didn’t know about that.
I have fluorcarbon strings which is about twice the price. I may try to compare the sound at Somerset when Dave is there. Thanks again

hi there was some discussion in Coffee Break back in January because I was looking for a harp mobile.
I don’t believe they are making the Matrix anymore, I had one and loved it and wanted another but they weren’t available.
See if you can look back in Coffee Break, in Jan under Prius V and Harpmobile for some of the discussion.
    good luck.

I have a Delight for a couple of years now. Love it. Best thing I did. I don’t do many gigs(trying to get more) but it’s wonderful. For St. Patrick’s day I do use my Aziliz for a brighter sound.
Couple of questions–What strings do you use? The bass strings are silver plate and they tarnish. Does that affect the sound? what do you do to clean it? Time to change the strings so curious what you use and how you like the sound.(I have the original carbon fiber strings on now)
Only problem (and slight problem at that) is that sometimes the pins slip. I think Dave may have made improvements in that area.

Have you tried cinnamon or ginger tea? Those spices are warming.

Thanks so much. The prius V looks great but there is a new safety test from the Insurance Institute of HIghway Safety and it didn’t do well. http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/toyota/prius-v
It’s a new test so manufacturers are first dealing with it. Other than that test the Prius V does very well for safety.
So I’m still looking. WE have a Prius and it is ok so far and we’re NJ and it’s been cold and snowy. I’ll see if my harp fits the PRius. If I see anything else that looks good , I’ll post it. In a past harp Column post someone said the Subaru had an issue with loading. I may check one out this week.

Christian-thanks so much. Very helpful. Do you know if they reviewed any other manufacturers other than Toyota? Again, many thanks.

Sunrise Sunset is very beautiful but often sung at weddings at many times used as a dance for bride and father. That might be too hard for a parent to listen to at a memorial service; Even psalms would need to be appropriate, for ex. Dodi li is for weddings. Asking a cantor would be your best bet for something like this.

    Hi again,

Happened to see the Rabbi and asked. Avenu Malkenu and Kol nidre definitely not associated with tragedy or loss.

Jewish litturgical music is almost all devotional and celebratory. Only possiblity is music played during Yizkor service and ask a Cantor for those.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi

I disagree with Avinu Malkenu. That’s “Our Father Our KIng” and is for the Sabbath Service and daily service. It’s not associated with grief and tragedy.

Kol Nidre which sounds austere is supposed to be awe inspiring. So not that either.

Not sure what would be grief and tragedy, usually, there is an absence of music with grief and tragedy.

Maybe ask a local Rabbi or Cantor.
