Hi Ruth–I’ve scanned and sent you a copy of the harp part that I have to the email address listed on your website. Please let me know if there is a different address that you would like it sent to!

    Hi David,

I sent you an email yesterday but am not sure if it went through. I am actually working on this piece now and would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to share your simplified version! My email address is as follows: elizabeth.bashore@gmail.com.

    Thanks so much!

I’ve used a small piece of a cotton ball in a pinch (and put it in the knot where the anchor would normally go.) Probably not ideal, but it would certainly work for the time being!

I have a semi-grand pedal harp and drive a Subaru Outback. I was able to fold the back seats flat and lay a futon mattress in the back for the harp to sit on. While I am able to load/unload it pretty comfortably and quickly, depending on your height, you may not be able to fit the harp in the car as easily. (The driver’s seat has to be moved forward quite a bit to slide the harp in.) As a car, Subarus are great–reliable, fun to drive, and relatively fuel efficient as well.

As a college-aged harpist, I am LOVING the new website design. I feel that the layout in much more intuitive and it’s nice to have the news updated on a daily basis. (I’m hoping they might add a ‘like’ button similar to Facebook.)

Certainly, there will be a temporary learning curve while everyone adjusts, but it seems like a very small price to pay in comparison to all of the hard work that has gone into making this new site. I doubt that HarpColumn would spend lots of time on a project that was unnecessary, so I’m sure that there was a reason that the new site was needed. It sounds like there are lots of improvements and new features for users to enjoy. I know that I appreciate HarpColumn’s continuous efforts to provide us with a forum to connect and share ideas!

I am also headed to college in the fall and looking for an affordable harp car. I need to find something that is all wheel drive/4 wheel drive that is also large enough to accommodate a pedal harp.

I’m considering a Subaru Outback. I know that the newer models (2005-present) have more cargo space. Does anyone have harp moving experience with this car?
