We use Penetrol when rust first starts to appear or to prevent rust. Apply with 0000 steel wool, rub gently and then wipe off the excess. Penetrol can be found in hardware and paint stores.

If you do not need a battery powered amp, my recommendation is for the AER amps, very high fidelity.
