I have a tiny Eve lapharp with Loveland levers. I haven’t played it in a few months and noticed the levers are getting stiff. What type of oil (if any) do any of you suggest to ease the movement of the levers? Thanks for any helpful responses.

    Hi Briggsie,

My Swan has Loveland levers and I have always just loosened to nut a tiny bit if they feel tight. I wouldn’t put oil of any kind on them.

I was always told I could use a small dab of sewing machine oil on them.

If they’re metal, yes, but I’d never do that on plastic.

Kay- Your solution is the right one for Loveland levers. Just loosen the nut that holds the handle onto the base to adjust the tightness. Be very careful not to over tighten that nut. Do not put oil on any part of a Loveland lever. Not only is the handle(the part you push up and pull down to change pitch) made of plastic. But there are plastic or nylon washers in the assembly as well.

Thank you very much Kay and Carl! I’ll loosen the nut. 🙂
