Can anyone tell me why, in my account info when I put Niina as my screen name, my real name shows here anyway?

I have looked at these forums on different PC’s as I thought it might just be me seeing it from my own computer, but it shows on any computer.

Clearly I had to give my name when signing up but I would like to be called by my Japanese middle name of Niina.

    Arigatou!

    Hello Niina.

Without going too far into it, harpcolumn.com is based on some fairly old software that only uses the “screen name” in a few places (the blogging part of the site, for example). You are however welcome to change your actual name on the site to whatever you like.

We have some very exciting new developments coming as we prepare the replacement for this site. We’ll let you all know when it’s getting close!

On the forums I am used to the screen name is usually some kind of handle, so I went by Goth Cox (after my 1980 James Cox Gothic harp) but it got a little strange being addressed as “Goth” while others were going by perfectly good names, especially names of prestigious harpists.

Lizzie, you also can’t edit your posts on HarpColumn and there’s no search function. BTW I love your playing on YouTube.

Hi Jessica, Thank you so much.

I haven’t uploaded any Harp music for a while, as Chets is keeping me very busy. I have had 8 different concerts to do in the last 3 weeks; some solo, some ensemble and some with Paul McCreesh and the CSO. Just 2 weeks ago I was told I am doing Ceremony of Carols in Manchester Cathedral (which isn’t very long to practise for someone of my level) in front of the Mayor, dignitaries and 1,000 people and possibly the BBC!!! The top 3 Harpists at Chets weren’t available. As you can imagine, I’m a little nervous. And last week my teacher said that I have accidently been given two pieces from the same list for my Grade 7 exam; which is this Thursday!!! So she added Dizi’s Etude No.2.

Well anyway, this Friday it will all be over and I can relax till after Christmas before getting back to practise and uploading a few more vids.

    Happy Christmas.

    Take care

    Lizzie
