    I am searching for something other than my trusty folding chair to sit on when I practice. Would love some feedback as to whether you like the round adjustable stools better or the rectangular/piano bench style and why.

    Lessons on a spinner, practice at home on a bench, no big difference, but I’m still fussing around with the ideal height of what I sit on and the difference between my Wurlitzer and my teacher’s massive gigantic Salvi.

    Some people feel insecure on a round stool because the seat goes from side to side with their movements, especially pedaling.

    I use a drummer’s throne that’s sort of saddle-shaped, like a triangle with a small raised portion in back, a formed seat. It’s cushioned and height adjustable, and folds up for transport. I play a lever harp so I don’t have much side-to-side motion to worry about. I like the fact that it swivels, so
